Allison Buchner

Allison is currently the General Counsel of Dollar Shave Club.  As General Counsel, she’s responsible for managing Dollar Shave Club’s legal, regulatory and compliance risks while providing strategic advice to the business across all business functions.  Allison is also one of the founding members of the Los Angeles chapter of TechGC, a community of General Counsels aimed at driving innovation, education and mentorship in the startup and legal industry while creating a community of peers who support each other throughout their careers.

Prior to joining Dollar Shave Club, Allison spent nearly ten years as a litigator at the Los Angeles office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where she became a partner in 2013.  Her work at Kirkland focused on intellectual property and false advertising litigation and advice to clients in diverse industries.  Allison serves on the Boards of Directors for two non-profit organizations: the Disability Rights Legal Center, a public interest advocacy organization that champions the civil rights of people with disabilities as well as those with cancer and other serious illnesses, and WishForward, a non-profit whose mission is to support and create schools committed to meaningful inclusion.  Allison lives in Westchester (Council District 11) with her husband and two daughters.

Allison was appointed to the Innovation and Performance Commission by Mayor Eric Garcetti.
